Summer Reading at Oceanside Library June 5th to August 5th

Children and teens are invited to earn prizes for reading, and participate in many fun, engaging and educational events throughout the summer! Sign up for Summer Reading online at or stop by any Oceanside Public Library location to register, pick up a children's paper reading log, or redeem prizes. Children ages 0-12 read, or are read to, 20-30 minutes each day. After 5 days of reading they earn a prize.

We have lots of jackets and sweaters that belong to the students of Reynolds Elementary School!

Please come and claim what belongs to your child ASAP.

All of the items will be placed outside the school gate the last week of April so that you have easy access and what is left over will be donated the first week of May.

Kindergarten Pre-Registration

Pre-registration for incoming Kindergarten students for 2017-2018 will begin on April 17, 2017.


Reynolds offers 3 options for incoming Kindergarten students. Legal age requirements for entrance into Kindergarten are as follows:

  • Kindergarten for children born on or before September 1, 2012.
  • Two-Way Immersion Kindergarten program for children born on or before Sept. 1, 2012
  • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for students born between September 2 and December 2, 2012. (Please wait for future dates for TK Registration)

To pre-enroll your child in Kindergarten the first step is to register online on or after April 17th using this link: AERIES AIR-Online Student Registration. Once you complete the online registration you will be prompted to bring a signed copy of the registration (if you can't print it at home, we can do it for you), Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, and 2 proofs of residence. Office hours for registration are 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM. It is important to register early to ensure proper placement at your resident school.  The Reynolds Computer Lab will be available for registration assistance Wednesdays from 1:30PM-2:30PM, beginning April 19th

We Need Your Help - Imagination Playground for Kindergarten

Reynolds, on behalf of the PTO, is looking for donations to fund an Imagination Playground for our kindergartners.This playground will help our students physically, academically, and socially while improving overall recess playtime.

Information and Registration 

  • The Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program at Reynolds School is a language-oriented program designed to build fluency in both Spanish and English.  Native Spanish and English speaking children have the opportunity to develop their listening, speaking and writing skills in both languages.
  • In the Reynolds Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program, Spanish is used as the primary language of instruction in the first years.  English is introduced gradually into the curriculum.  All students receive a high quality instructional program centered on academic success in both Spanish and English.
  • The goal of the program is for all students to become biliterate and bilingual in two languages - English and the "target" language Spanish.

On Monday, Jan. 30, the Oceanside Unified School District is upgrading to a new Notification System called SchoolMessenger. The new notification system will replace ParentLink. The new system allows schools to contact parents and families in a more efficient and timely manner. The new system also allows parents and families the option of managing how they receive calls and information from their child’s school.
